An EMDR consultation group is a small group of EMDR-trained clinicians who meet with an experienced consultant to discuss cases, target selection, stuck processing, and fidelity to the standard protocol. Many clinicians join one after basic training, and many stay on long after certification for peer support.
If you are working toward EMDRIA Certification, check that the leader is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant (or Consultant in Training) and ask how hours are documented. Group consultation can count toward part of the requirement, but not all of it.
